The roots of Rock 'n' Roll and Rockabilly lie in Rhythm & Blues. Juke Joint \u201849<\/strong> digs up these roots from the musical soil and shows where the music of Buddy Holly & Co. had its equally rocking origins. Chess Records in Chicago, Modern Records in Los Angeles, and Atlantic Records in New York were just as much sources of energy from the late '40s to the mid-'50s as SUN Records in Memphis, Tennessee, which initially recorded local R&B artists.
